Biography

Isaac LeFevre is the progenitor of the "Virginia LeFevres" mentioned by George N. LeFevre in his compilation titled "The Pennsylvania LeFevres."

The best source of information concerning Isaac LeFevre of Virginia is found in the article: "Isaac Lefebure (Lefevre) of Manakin Town & His Immediate Descendants," Cameron Allen, (Virginia Magazine of History & Biography).

That well-sourced article provides the following information:

Isaac arrived on the second shipload of Manakin Town settlers on the Peter and Anthony, galley of London, Daniel Perreau, commander, which arrived at Jamestown on September 20, 1700. His name on the passenger list was “Isaac Leffeure” and he was apparently without dependants. On November 10, 1701, he is listed on William Byrd’s “List of Ye French Refugees That Are Settled Att Ye Manachin Town” with his apparently new wife as “Isaac Lefavour & his wife & John Martin.” According to her April 29, 1720 will, in which she was a widow, she was born Madeleine Parenteau.

By July 29, 1715, he had acquired a 68-acre parcel of land, patented to him on October 31, 1716.

By about 1714, as “Isaac Lesebure,” he had a wife, one son and three daughters. Their children were: Judith born about 1702 (who became the wife of Pierre Dupuy) and died about 1785; Magdelaine, born about 1706 (died unmarried in 1724); a son alive in 1714 who had died by 1720; and Elizabeth, born about 1712 (who became the wife of Jacquese Brian), died between 1740-1744.

He is not listed as a tithable in 1719 and so may have died by then. His wife died by June 6, 1720 when her will was proved. [1].

There is a lot more information about him, his wife and their children in the article.

I don't think there is any evidence that Isaac's parents were Anthoine LeFevre and Antoinette De Villain. Does anyone object if I disconnect them as his parents?

You are no doubt correct but I suggest spending a little time to find some proof the parents of our Virginia Isaac Lefevre. Too many sources are centered on the Pennsylvania Isaac and it is a difficult thicket to get through. I do see family search shows a different set of parents: Andre LeFevre and Antoinette Jerrian. But no proof docs

There is no evidence that Those are his parents.

It is even very unlikely! They did not leave France for Leiden and Manheim, to get back to France to get a son there! Not as refugees.

I believe they are correct. One of the problems is that there were two Isaac Lefevre immigrants one who landed in Virginia and another who went to Pennsylvania. They are not the same person however many of the named relatives are named similarly so it can be quite confusing.

The same spouse is connected to both profiles. There are no reliable sources attached to either profile, which is a requirement of Pre-1700 profiles. The other profile has a gravestone from Pennsylvania but no mention of Pennsylvania on that profile.
I'm starting to understand some of the confusion which is scary. As Michael Sanderson identified there were at least two Isaac Lefevre immigrants. One that settled in Pennsylvania with his wife Catherine and then my Isaac Lefevre that settled in Virginia with many of my other French ancestors. Lefevre-57 appears to be a nice profile for Pennsylvania Isaac managed by the Palatine Migration Project. Le_Fevre-48 appears to be the best profile for the Virginia Isaac but it needs better sources. Also both Lefevre-57 and Le_Fevre-48 list the same mother which I think is wrong on Lefevre-57 because she's not the mother of the other children. Then the other Isaac Lefevre profiles still need to be cleaned up. There seems to be more documentation online for the Pennsylvania Isaac detailing his struggle in France and the family bible he brought with him that is preserved in Lancaster, Pennsylvania such as https://www.lancasterhistory.org/exhibitions/digital-exhibitions/lefevre-family-bible

That's a good point. Who knows, they may all end up being part of the same extended family.

Regarding Andre and Antoinette Jerrian: I see a profile for her at Jerrian-1 but haven't been able to find any evidence of any Antoinette Jerrian (or much at all on that last name). I wonder if she might be confused somehow with Antoinette Villain (De_Villain-1) who married Anthoine Le Fevre (LeFevre-869), although those names aren't very similar, so maybe not. I also haven't been able to find any evidence of Andre Lefevre (Lefevre-83) and wonder if he existed. The early NY immigrant Andre/Andrew le Fevre (Lefevre-84), apparently didn't marry.
